1. What is DROP (Dynamic Risk Operations Platform)? 

DROP is an integrated suite of intelligence tools designed to transform fragmented weather data into unified, actionable insights. By streamlining the transition from planning to execution, DROP allows mission teams to "buy down" environmental risk and increase the probability of mission success across various operational theaters.

2. What is the difference between DROP Black and DROP Red? 

The suite is designed to support the entire mission lifecycle through two specialized interfaces:

  • DROP Black: A web-based, weather intelligence platform that enables deep route analysis, collaborative weather briefings, and seamless coordination across the task force.

  • DROP Red: A dedicated ATAK plugin built for forward-deployed operators. It provides hardened capabilities for contested or denied environments and optimizes enroute decision-making.

3. Can DROP be used in offline or contested environments? 

Yes. While DROP Black provides robust collaborative tools via the web, DROP Red is specifically engineered for the tactical edge. As an ATAK plugin, it offers hardened functionality to ensure operators maintain environmental situational awareness even in communications-denied or contested environments.

4. How much does DROP cost? 

Because DROP is a high-touch, custom-engineered solution, pricing is tailored to the specific operational scale and risk profile of your organization. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all 'sticker price' because your challenges aren't one-size-fits-all. Our goal is to align the investment with the measurable ROI we deliver, whether that’s saving millions in operational downtime or ensuring the safety of your troops.

5. How can I request a demo or speak with a DROP expert?

6. How may I view/access my personal data? 

For categories of personal data DROP collects, processes or shares, please refer to our DROP Privacy Policy. 

Additionally, you may:

  • Follow instructions from your browser to view cookie data.  

7. Can I request deletion of my personal data?

Yes, you can request deletion of your personal data by emailing us at shop.dropmil@weather.com.

  • If you have visited our site: DROP only processes personal data in the form of cookies/trackers associated with your browser.  Please delete your browser cookies/clear cache to reset any browser-based tracking. Once this occurs, data previously collected will no longer be associated with your device.

7. How can I opt out of sharing my personal data?

DROP collects personal data from your interactions with us and our website, including through cookies and similar technologies. We may also share this personal data with third parties including Shopify and advertising partners. Sharing of personal data for targeted advertising based on your interaction on different websites may be considered a “sale of data” or “sharing of data”  or "targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out, and to exercise this right, you may visit Your Privacy Choices page. 

Upon visiting the “Your Privacy Choices” opt-out page, by clicking “opt out“, the browser on this device will be opted out of sharing personal data. If you select the checkbox and enter an email, the related customer account will also be opted out.

As noted in the DROP Privacy Policy, your opt out choice will apply only to this website and will not apply to our consumer facing weather-related websites/mobile applications including weather.com. (Please visit weather.com directly to view or change your privacy choices there.)

  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): When you access the TWC Shop using a browser with GPC enabled, this automatically activates opting out of data sale/sharing or targeted advertising by Shopify and third parties.
